Kusum Solar Pump Project
Many times due to lack of electricity or power outage, farmers’ crops suffer a lot. Keeping this in mind, many governments have taken various measures, among them the Kusum Solar Pump Yojana. Kusum Solar Pump Project is launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This project was started in 2019. Through this scheme, farmers are given a subsidy of up to Rs. 60% for solar pumps. Kusum solar pump project has many advantages. As a result, farmers can irrigate their fields with the help of solar pumps on time without electricity.
Material
1.Distribution of Solar Pumps: In the first phase of this project, the Department of Power, in collaboration with Central Government Departments, will successfully distribute solar powered pumps.
2) Construction of Solar Power Plant: This project will be constructed when there is enough capacity to generate electricity.
3) Installation of tubewells: Tubewells will be installed by the government which will generate certain amount of electricity.
4) Modernization of existing pumps: Existing pumps will also be modernized and old pumps will be replaced with new solar pumps.
